Biography

Evil Yreia tricked me into this addiction. He was showing me all these pre-release-articles full of some nice pictures and when the beta came out I decided to join him by creating a character as well... I think we were with 4 hordies back then. I made an undead mage and I was really amazed by the wonderfull graphics, I liked this cartoon style. And after that I was impressed by the massive world Blizzard had created. Wandering through Trisfall Glade, a visit to Stranglethorn Vale with the skulled mobs cause I took a wrong Zeppelin, reaching Oggrimar after all, a wonderfull introduction to the game.

When World of Warcraft was released I made a warlock, Tarot. I liked the idea of having a demon pet... and I liked Tarot as well... together with Serra (Yreia's rogue) we discovered Azeroth, wiping several times on Van Cleef, being amazed by the Scarlet Monestary, getting a free mount (yay for locks), and reaching the end content at level 60. Endless runs to Scholo to get the headpiece. I joined Cantonium Elites as being in a dutch guild looked nice back then. And at the start it was very nice.

In the meanwhile I had levelled a mage as well, a gnome called Etax, one of my coolest characters for his nice smile and green hair. I grew tired of Tarot back then... The warlock wasn't the lock that it is today... demons kept being desummoned when you were running to fast, deathcoil didn't exist, and shards were spread over every bag since shard bags weren't invented then, hail the one who discovered that. Thus Etax became my main and with him I went to MC for the first time and got my first epic, I still keep it in the bank... but I got tired of CE as well cause there were a lot of kids in there... and a lot of unfriendly jokes in guildchat.

I joined some other guilds as well, most notably Utopia. Lumen (Yreia's new alt) wanted to do raids and had met some friends durig her stay in Prometheus and so I joined the guild as well. With my druid Eolan that had reached 60 as well. He went resto and oh my, he rocked. We cleared MC with Utopia, cleared BWL, did Ony, AQ 20, ZG, AQ40... and then I lost the guild feeling. I don't know, it was the raiding atmosphere, people expected you to turn up several nights a week, and farming pots on the other moment. I had the feeling I lost control of my own character and thus I decided to leave.

After some research I found out about the lemmings of the light. Of course I had seen lemmings running around Ironforge, but after reading the website I got the feeling that this was my guild Smile After some talking to Wilgje I joined and I never got disappointed by this decision. Oh yeah, Yreia joined as well Smile We are talking about January 2007 here. A small month later the Burning Crusade expansion hit so I created a draenei shaman. As you understand by now after a few years of playing, Eolan wasn't cool enough after all and I decided to continue with Tun the shaman (after a small priest-hunter-mage-identity crisis Laughing out loud). I love the class since a shaman with dual spec is a nice combination between a mage and a very capable priest. Most probably I will stick to him. Partly cause mainswitching all the time scatters a lot of achievements around different characters, partly cause shamans rock and partly cause Wilgje will probably kick me when I switch again. One more thing, cause I still like to "change" stuff, Tun got a trans-race-operation when patch 4.0.3 was implemented, he now is goes by the name Tun of Ironforge and without tentacles.

If you could be your character for one day, what would you do?:
Hop on my bird and fly around doing some rollovers and corkscrew. WEEEHAAAAA :)
Where are you from/what is your main language?:
The Netherlands --> Dutch
In real life...:
I teach history to teenagers.
What's the noobiest thing you've ever done?:
Most of the noobie things have to do with discovering the game. For example, when I got my first green cloth item on my warlock somehwere in Westfall I was so happy with it... After ten levels though I discovered what stats are... and then came to realise +agi wasn't the way to go for a lock. Then tailoring... Finally a nice blue robe I could make.... dollar signs $$... after farming loads of mats, 30 seconds of crafting, a victory rush to the AH, I found out I couldn't sell it cause it was BoP.
