Posting pictures
When you have a picture you want to share, please always make sure it is a jpg picture. This will enable the website to make a thumbnail of your picture. Also, please make sure the size is considerate of our bandwidth
As nothing under the sun is free! For example, a picture size of 800x600 pixels can be considered 'large', anything above is not recommended for upload. If you'd like another measure, try to keep your picture below the 100-150 kilobyte filesize.
Now. How do you upload a picture?
Go to create content - image and upload a picture. If you'd like the picture and your text to be shown on the front page, go to 'publishing options' and tick the box before 'promoted to frontpage'. This will upload your picture and make a post on the frontpage, which shows your text and a thumbnail of your picture.
If you don't tick the box before frontpage, the picture will simply go into the image gallery of your choice and the post will not be made to the frontpage. This goes for all content types!
If you want to add multiple pictures to your post, you can create the type of content you prefer (frontpage article or blog entry). You'll need to go to 'input format', and tick 'full html'. Then you can add html links to pictures you hosted elsewhere or on the Lemmings website by adding the following HTML in your post:
<a href="LOCATION OF THE FULL-SIZE IMAGE"><img src="LOCATION OF THE THUMBNAIL"></a>
Note:To post a picture in our forums, place a picture url between .

You can find the location of the thumbnail image by going to the image gallery, for example Wallpaper worthy, and right-clicking the image of your picture. Go to properties and there you will find the address of the picture. Copy-paste it into the bit with caps "LOCATION OF THE THUMBNAIL", completely replacing that bit.
Then, click on the picture and copy the url of the page that the image is shown on, and paste that in the 'LOCATION OF THE FULL-SIZE IMAGE" bit. Like this:
<a href="http://www.lemmings-of-the-light.net/?q=node/438"><img src="http://www.lemmings-of-the-light.net/files/images/Paladin_small.gifquot;></a>

There! You've created a thumbnail in a normal post, by using HTML
If you have your own webspace of your internet provider, it would be very helpful if you would upload your picture on there. You can then choose to make a thumbnail on your own webspace and link to that, as above, or you can just link to the picture by linking like this:
See my picture <a href="http://www.lemmings-of-the-light.net/?q=node/438">here</a>
turns into

Is there any other way to post a picture in a post without uploading it first to the Image Gallery or on your own webspace? Like posting a picture from your My Images map on your own pc?
It seems to me that if you have to upload it on the Image Gallery on our site, that the site gets clogged...
Free
There are a lot of free image hosts sites on the internet. One of the best known is Imageshark (http://imageshack.us/). No need to register to upload there.
Photobucket (http://photobucket.com/) is another very good one. For this one, you'll need to register (but it's free) and then you get a private online photo album so that you can later go back to the image and edit/remove as necessary. There is a limit on how much you can upload, but the amount is extremely large and I doubt you'll be getting anywhere near the cap for quite a long time.
Each of them provide a forum link that you can put in your post to display the image (or the thumbnail version).
A warrior is like a paladin, ony the light has been turned off.

The website has oodles of webspace but you should keep the image size reasonable. Ie resize it to around 800x600 pixels tops.
And you can't link to a file that is on your computer. You will be the only one that sees the image.
