Lemming healers defy laws of nature!

AdminWilgje's picture

Holy moly!

a

After a rough start of our evening with an uncooperative Anub'Rekhan we ended it *awesomely* with an amazing fight that will stay with me for some while to come... me and Kishia were tanking Gluth, and I was checking my debuffs, when I saw something beside me hug the floor. Uh oh- only one tank, and the 10% less healing debuffs were stacking! *THREE* times I had 11 of these debuffs ("Wilgje receives 110% less healing") and our healing team of the night - Garalia, Spitbeard and Lunalights got me through it! O_O

Liek whoa! Another high point of our evening was of course the promotion of Matzy to high lemming - congratulations! Smile The next high lemming round will be held in august.

Isn't it so that when you get 110% less healing, that all damage will heal you instead and the other way around?Wink

It doesn't make any sense at all, because when she had that many stacks, I saw I still healed Wilgje for 600 health when I casted a Holy Light on her.

Talking about Wilgje suddenly reminds that our bosslady said that the first who died at the Froggerboss should pay us food. And who oh who was that??? Laughing out loud

My assumption is that the

My assumption is that the 'zomgyergonnadie' tricks such as Guardian Spirit (which both priests said they cast) apply there healing bonus after the debuff (i.e. debuff reduces healing by 110%, but spell increases it by 40%). In addition it will always save the life of the player (unless you are a DK or druid). The pally bubble doodah thing also prevents death I believe?

For me the most amazing part about it was that with 3 last-gasp-saves needed, and only 3 available, you each took your turn (and you don't have time to shout out on TS). I bet you couldn't do it again if you tried Wink

The bubble thing prevents

AdminWilgje's picture

The bubble thing prevents death, but if you mean my self bubble, that would have made tanking impossible Wink and if you mean the divine intervention, a healer would not be able to continue healing Wink

I have to say btw that I did some googeling and some guilds actually do it on purpose with one tank, but I saw it written that you need a *lot* of healing, really well geared healers and a really well geared tank. Well I'm decently geared but not that awesome Wink

I think it only stacked to

I think it only stacked to 100%, 10 stacks. That's still no healing though so I'd go with Guardian Spirit and some good avoidance making it possible Smile Add in a sprinkle of luck and it's a dead doggy!

The real trick is to keep both tanks up though Wink

WoWhead says 10 stacks, but

AdminWilgje's picture

WoWhead says 10 stacks, but I'm pretty sure about seeing I had 11, as I was amazed by how that would be possible. I was just relieved to see it did reset after reaching the maximum, but man, it was scary Wink

Us holy priests do seem to

Akaryxn's picture

Us holy priests do seem to be very lucky with our bottom tier talent. It is an incredibly useful spell being instant cast and with only a 3 min cooldown. I use it an awful lot (including casting it on my self while soloing - something I realised I could do only a month or so ago), and it can lead to some interesting figures in healing stats (Greater Heals over 20k are not uncommon with it). It's a shame that it doesn't work properly with DK's and Druid tanks (they change form on death and this overrides the sacrifice part of the buff). I guess the same would be true for a demonology warlock in demon form.

But I'll say it again, having healers with Get Out Of Jail Free cards still requires them not to all cast it at the same time, so I'm still very impressed at the kill Wink

i did'nt know i use that

Smile i did'nt know i could use that out of jail card on my self.. lol
And well geared healers, uuh well i still carry lots off low level gear including one green.. *blushing a little
mmh he!! that made me think off something.. anyone up for a hc Laughing out loud

Awesome fight!!

That really goes down as one of those "squeaky trouser" moments!!

It has to be the most fun fight I've had *ever* seeing Wilgje saved from death not once, not twice, but three times, and getting that puppy down just after he killed Wiggles, and as he enraged as well Laughing out loud

I've almost recovered from the adrenaline rush now, so I might sleep for a week!! Laughing out loud

Haha nice one. I recall

Haha nice one. I recall something similar happening in a raid a while ago, with (I think?) Glendus tanking. Its crazy ... good job!

Is there any point considering going to Ulduar for the first boss, at the start or near the end of the next run? I know not all peeps have the gear for Ulduar, but the first boss is, well, very very much fun and is relatively easy.

Anyway, thanks again for the promo. Im still a little shocked by it as I feel relatively "fresh and new" to the guild, but already have a great deal of pride being part of the Lemmings!

Good idea!

This is a good idea and I actually considered doing this for the run of last Wednesday. However we ended up not doing this because I wanted to save Levathian for the run of upcoming Monday. Right now we have already have 8 players signed up who are at the Ulduar-gear level, so I have high hopes we can actually do an Ulduar run on that night.

In general it might be an idea to consider still doing the first Ulduar boss when we don't have an Ulduar-geared line-up. That way our guildies who aren't at the Ulduar-gear level yet can still have some of the Ulduar-fun, and if we then do an actual Ulduar-run later that week we will already have cleared the first boss, saving quite a lot of time for the other bosses.

For what it's worth I put up

"The OT died in a run (taunted @ Decimate Tongue), and we didnt have a battle res. It stacked to 10 on me, and just kept counting down. It eventually wore off, and he started to reapply it starting at 1 again. We killed him too :P"

Apparently the stacks stop being applied at 10 (11 for Wilgje Wink) and wear off before being reapplied. And maybe Kishia died because he taunted during the decimate? I remember I tried to heal him as soon as the decimate started, but he was killed while I was casting heals.

Yep, I taunted at 3 stacks

Yep, I taunted at 3 stacks and he decided to decimate half a second after that. Splat.

I think the kill was a great advert for the value of avoidance when it comes to tanking, even with 100% healing debuff you can stay up with a bit of luck from the dice rolling gods of wow Smile
