Mass lemming jump
Plans: Mass lemming jump
Who: Jumpy lemmings
Where: Yet to be decided, some options:
Twin Colossals (Feralas, Kalimdor)
Mount Hyjal zone (Kalimdor)
Darnassus
Ironforge
When: june 22, 15:00
People needed: lemmings to jump down, an event-organiser (raid leader), someone that can film the event
Time needed: 30-45 minutes
Resources: none
Evaluation: We went to Ferallas twin colossals. There is a teleporter guy that gets you on top off the colossal. We told a small story about lemmings in Feralas. And on top of the colossals you can buy a 10 secs slow fall item. As real lemmings on the first jump we all died. But after that we had a great second and third jump. (3 jumps was nice, the whole event took about 45 minutes) To get an extra thing in we ordered a screenshot contest, did that on spot. We thought that it would make the jump even more fun. Next time this should be taken care off a bit earlier (i.e. make a post on the forum where people can dump their screenie, decide on jury and price). And on top of that the price... due to some abscence we still are in debt. But price or no price, the event itself was great.

Maybe we can do something with screenshots for our website, a contest with the best screenshot?

mass lemmings jump research
While doing some mass-lemming-jump research I came across this:
While many people believe that lemmings commit mass suicide when they migrate, this is not the case. Driven by strong biological urges, they will migrate in large groups when population density becomes too great. Lemmings can and do swim and may choose to cross a body of water in search of a new habitat[5]. On occasion, and particularly in the case of the Norway lemmings in Scandinavia, large migrating groups will reach a cliff overlooking the ocean. They will stop until the urge to press on causes them to jump off the cliff and start swimming, sometimes to exhaustion and death. Lemmings are also often pushed into the sea as more and more lemmings arrive at the shore.
And then I was shocked by this. Can you imagine Walt Disney doing this kind of things:
The suicide myth was further propagated by Walt Disney documentary White Wilderness in 1958 which includes footage of lemmings migrating and running head-long over a ledge. An investigation in 1983 by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's Brian Vallee, showed that the Disney film makers faked the entire sequence using imported lemmings (bought from Inuit children), a snow covered turntable on which a few dozen lemmings were forced to run, and literally throwing lemmings into the sea to show the alleged suicides.

erm... sorry to interrupt, but I thought this should be fixed soon before everyone can see the surprises..? I think this is the PR headquarters? Or did I just get lost somewhere in the site? If it is indeed I shouldn't be able to access them and however I can. I was just clicking on the recent comments when this *spoiler* page opened \o/ !!!

Vendetta!
AS a proud lemming, I am disgusted by the actions of the Disney Corporation and their blatant cruelty for the sake of entertainment.
The first talking mouse I see will be swiftly rounded up for an appropriate level of reprisals. Disney, you have been warned!!
I have reset permissions.
