We're here to keep spirits high in the guild!, event organizing will be our main priority.
This summer i'll have a lot of time on my hands to create different events and so far two have come to mind that are quite difficult to setup, but the end result should be worth it
They are roughly this:
- BWL, yet another visit to one of the old worlds great raiding instances, however this will require a lot more planning and tactic reading then MC or Onyxia. However i believe it should be possible.
- A movie, starring Joe Snow (among others). This is one of the more demanding parts in which we will need actors, camera crew and more things that i can't think of right now. This is also to improve my video editing skills and i think it would be a great thing for the Aszune community(not just us lemmings). i'm working on a script atm but could use some help with ideas, won't start with this until June/July so keep checking the forums!
Thats just my plan so far, please add anything you come up with or if you heard some other lemmings talking about wanting to go somewhere, this is the place for it.
I like our secret headquarters and I like our guild standard +350 spirit for that one
I for myself have played with the idea of joining a roleplayserver for a long time but though I like the idea of RP, saying "amazing" and "wonderfull" on every SM run really turned me off. But I think it would be nice to have some RP events cause I'm sure there are people who like that for a single night, hour or even some minutes.
On those RP servers there are dozens of nice events, a few of them:
* Story telling contests
* Fishing contests
* Bazars
* Making a play
* Runs from one point in the world to another (hey lemmings run )
* Difficult tasks to help out famous or less famous people
* Some siteseeing tours
* etc.
RP stuff would be fun, I once joined a RP server on Dark Ages of Camelot, about 5 mins in I got a tell along the lines of "For sooth sire, wouldst thou be willing to form a partnership to rid these lands of the vermin thats affecting them"... I logged off right away and deleted the character
An idea while I'm here Have some challenges for people, for example...
Warrior/Druid/Pally tank to pull the whole of Deadmines and then AoE them all at once.
Rogue to stealth through some hard instance and pick pocket the boss e.g. pick pocket High King Maulgar.
Stealth into Undercity and screen shot the boss
Solo Ragefire chasm in Orgrimmar
You get the idea... but it could be started with some challenges made up by us, and then people could add to them.
you're more then welcome mate.
Your pickpocket idea got me thinking of an class specific event. something a certain class can only perform. pickpocketing HKM had me laughing!

I added a page about it after Mira's example, I added a note to the post that perhaps it would be nice to do challenges as part of something bigger like the "Lemming-lympics"?
In my previous guild we had an "alt boost Saturday". (we can change the day ) We ran it every two weeks - but then we had a lot of low level chars and alts!
Guildies were asked to run a boost through an instance they felt happy to solo. Repeated SM Lib runs were a favourite as were ZF and BRD - even Gnomer and SFK! A drood bear can do Stockades in 10 minutes (I know - I was that bear)
Its amazing how many "dings" you can get in a few hours with just a few volunteers
One level 70 can boost through most 50 and under instances. We may need to ask two higher level guildies for ease for instances like BRD, Scholo and Strat.
What do you think?
If it works, we can extend the idea to grinding honour. Can you imagine it? Ramparts Sunday! (Kaliya needs HH rep )

Sounds good
I would just like to point out that saturday and sunday are difficult days for organising things as people seem to log on less. But I think a day to focus on with helping people's alts sounds good; makes the whole thing more efficient
I should note though that I'm not a big fan of boosting people too much as in only few cases (like Calora) the person playing the toon is already familiar with the class and boosting someone through an instance (helping people through the really 'testing' part of the game) can prevent people learning how to play the class. So I am hoping organising a day for it would help get as much people of the same level in the group so perhaps the boost part isn't even needed
I think if someone already has a "70" then they should know how an instance group operates and about CC, threat, kill order, loot and so on - which is mostly what is learned in lower level instances. Also, instances at 50 and lower are done with a limited set of abilities due to the talent tree and so I'm not convinced how much learning of the nuances of a class are really done before that.
My exception to this would be tanks. They need to learn the instances in a much more detailed way that has not as much to do with class as with a knowledge base of what patrols where, and so on. The only way to do that is to mark and pull for real.
Once you get to the 50+ instances then the "70" is there more as insurance rather than a boost in the Deadmines sense of the word.

Well, instancing becomes too easy; there's no need to pay attention or make an effort because the higher level will just swoop up the mobs and perhaps even AOE them; with the only remaining task the dividing of the loot. This goes for every role, not just for tanks. I think what you mean is the "party leader" role, which unfortunately the tanks always seem to get. (cry)
What I like to boost in guildies is their own exploration of their class (learning of new tricks) and improvisation. Both things are made unnecessary if most of the work is done for you, and this goes for people on their mains as well as people who have done the instance before.
For example, speaking from personal experience, a warlock should be used to soulstoning people and throwing out healthstones, but because such things are just not necessary when you get boosted a lot (you can pwn the mobs anyway) I never learned to do these things routinely until it was too late

Anyway just looking at it from a people managing perspective ofc, I don't mean to throw too much guildleadery stuff in here and I don't mean to shoot down a good idea because I think it does have merit
I'd like to annouce that we'll be having our first meeting on Sunday(1st of june) evening around 20:00 In Stormwind. Will last about an hour. I want to setup a quite simple event soon, to get us started so that's what we'll mainly discuss.
Topics are:
- Our First Event, When, where, what, how?
- Website
- Complaints and requests
- Anything else thats on your mind
Would be great if someone could write it down for us, if there are no volenteers, i'll do it myself. Always good if you forgot something or couldn't join the meeting yourself.

I added a child page about the Mr Pinchy stuff as me and Lleu have a hard time doing it every week. It would be a big help if anyone here felt like helping out with it (Pinchysisters!) or could send in a screenshot that I could photoshop pinchy in

As you can see in the childpage I made, you either need a mr pinchy and a screenshotter (it is kind of hard to screenshot your pet with surroundings without being on the picture as well) or photoshop skillz I posted two .gif's there for ultimate ease!
Just a quick look at the site and I think I've spotted something needing an update, on the "Want to join Lemmings?" in the bit about inactive chars, should it be lvl 70 not 60 now?
I am pretty busy with some RL-stuff at the moment, so apologies for my low-key presence ingame and onsite lately. Am confident I can pick up my normal "presence" coming weekend or next week.
After waiting in IF for an enchant I saw a bank char called "Mypackmule" so I thought we could do a competition - "best bank char name". After all, there are quite a few guildies with one or more bank chars
Lemmings of the Light have reopened recruitment! If you are thinking about applying, please read How to join Lemmings: a guide!
We're not looking for any particular classes/roles, so go ahead and apply with your main. If you want to know more about us, and have questions after reading our website, send a tell to Wilgje (GM), Neti (Acting GM), Akaryxn, Garalia, Bulldaz/Daz or Vico. We'll be happy to help.
